BITTERSWEET ENDING

Gin

A modified Negroni that brings an umami factor; the sweet and oak notes from barrel aging in bourbon barrels lets this classic gin cocktail bridge the gap between Negroni and Boulevardier, and the addition of the Amaretto cuts the bitterness back just enough to make this more approachable and balanced.

INGREDIENTS

1 ½ Parts Temple Distilling Woodcut Barrel Rested Gin

1 Part Campari

1 Part Sweet Vermouth

Splash of Amaretto

DIRECTIONS

Stir ingredients until chilled, strain into a rocks glass with a large ice cube. Garnish with an orange or lemon peel.

Footnote:

Amaro Montenegro is also fantastic in place of the Amaretto, bringing this back to the bitter side for fans of anything assertive and Italian.
